Part I: The Developers

This is the first of a 3 part interview series I’ll be doing with some of the members of the team behind the much anticipated PC game title ASHEN.

Derek Bradley and Leighton Milne are based out of New Zealand. They both met and became fast friends while working at development studio SIDHE Interactive and later WETA Digital where they worked on films like Rise of The Planet of The Apes, TINTIN, and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.  ASHEN is their first solo gaming project and it’s quite the ambitious one. We spoke at some length about their still early work on the title, including their goals for gameplay mechanics, overall story goals, and even a little about likes and dislikes when it comes to work that’s out there already.

Part II is an interview with John Robert Matz, a Music Composer who has joined the team as Sound Designer.

Part III is an interview with Thomas Scholes, a Concept Designer whose work can be seen in previous games like HALO 4 and GUILD WARS 2.
