NYCC14: DAREDEVIL Netflix TV series airs clips

Cool tidbits were revealed at the most recent Comicon in New York.  You’ve got the image above which is our first look at the costume (hopefully an earlier iteration and not the final choice for the whole series).  The 13-part series will air exclusively on Netflix and stars actor Charlie Cox in the role of Matt Murdoch / Daredevil.  Other cast include Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Deborah Ann Woll in the role of Karen Page.

Several clips were shown from the show including fight sequences that are described as brutal.  Murdoch gets pretty bloodied.  Also lots of character moments including our first look at D’Onofrio’s performance as Kingpin.

Tone of the clips covers the gamut from tense and brooding to light and humorous.  The overall reception seems to lean in the positive direction which is good.  Having seen the pilot for CONSTANTINE and now that we’re a few episodes into GOTHAM, I’m hoping for some TV that’s actually worthy of the material.  The FLASH isn’t too bad. The pilot was decent, but it would be nice to see if MARVEL can pull things off where DC appears to continually miss.  In TV anyway. MARVEL hasn’t shown that they can do it with Agents of Shield.  Maybe they can do it at Netflix.  Fingers crossed.

Here’s another image from the nets of Matt Murdoch out of costume, along with a poster.
