Marvel will release the first trailer for the upcoming Iron Man live action movie sequel. The film will be under new direction with Shane Black (he actually acted as consultant/sometimes writer on the previous films too so, he knows what he’s doing). Jon Favreau has hung up the director hat, but will return as the Happy Hogan, Stark’s confidant and driver.
You’ll be happy to know that previous cast members Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man), Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts), and Don Cheadle (James Rhodes/War Machine) will return in their roles and will be joined by series newcomers Guy Pearce (Aldrich Killian) and Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin. The Mandarin is arguably Tony Stark’s biggest nemesis; the Joker to Stark’s Batman. It’ll be interesting to see what Sir. Ben brings to the table. He’s a chameleon of an actor and we’re excited to see his turn. It does look like they’ve gotten the costume right.
Speaking of the Mandarin. We will get our first look at the character, as well as the new costume and a tease of the new storyline which all indications suggest will be a really dark turn. See some choice screen captures below. Click each for larger versions.
We’ll get our first look at the latest Suit design, in motion.
If you can only save one of them. This looks to be a really tense scene and Tony won’t be able to save everyone.
Oh, No! Pepper in trouble. I wonder if this might be an allusion to a different, but similar Pepper in Peril scene from the comics. The comics version doesn’t end well for Pepper.
Here we have our first glimpse at the guy behind all this perilous mayhem. The movie version of The Mandarin. Is that a 10 rings tattoo on the back of his neck…
