So, this is interesting. I think actor Chadwick Boseman just revealed some news. A few weeks ago, Marvel announced Boseman will be playing the role of African superhero Black Panther in a solo film to hit theaters in 2017. They also announced that he would be also be making a sizeable appearance in 2016 with the next Captain America film alongside Chris Evans (Steve Rogers) and Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark). What has been speculated, however, but not officially confirmed is whether Black Panther would make a cameo before those two appearances. Well, the cat might just be out of the bag.
In the below otherwise uneventful interview clip from VARIETY magazine, Boseman seems to confirm that Captain America is not the only film Panther will appear in before his solo film. In the clip, actor Logan Lehrman (Fury, Percy Jackson) asks Chadwick Boseman whether a director has been chosen for the film yet.
Boseman answers the question with these words… “There’s a director on the movies that I’m introduced, but not for Black Panther…”
Seeing as the only films to be released before Captain America as Avengers 2 and Ant-Man, it’s most likely that we’ll get to see the Black Panther as an end credits sequence in Avengers. That and because some of the film’s plot takes place in Wakanda; fictional country of origin to Black Panther.
