The story: On a sleepy South American coastal town, where life passes with little drama, mysterious glowing orbs start to appear and disappear without trace before the governmental science team get on-site. They seem to be harmless until some young children touch one, instantly being struck blind before the town is hit by a sudden and devastating storm.
Why read it?: Author of the contemporary classic, DC New Frontier, Darwyn Cooke is one of those creators that you follow on to every project, be it as artist or writer/artist. His work here is a crisp and stylish as ever, and coupled with a really intriguing story The Twilight Children promises to be the best mini-series Vertigo have put out in quite some time.
